Sometimes a modern-day designer hits it just right: the styles and the stories behind them are equally unique and intriguing. It’s rare, but we think we’ve found this combination in Jade Holland Cooper.

A very British couple, Jade Holland Cooper and Julian Dunkerton (photo by Robert Wilson for The Sunday Time), enjoy their respective businesses in the Cotswolds, the quintessential English countryside. What drew us into their story is the laid back, earnest vibe that their story and their photos conveyed. Can this be? Can two highly-motivated self-starters overseeing multi-million dollar businesses, a castle-like home and the requisite fast cars actually be accessible…relatable…and humble? Jade Holland Cooper’s social media presence seems to validate that impression. As does Julian’s flip-phone. Sense and Sensibility

After reading about how Jade Holland Cooper left agricultural college ten years ago to start her own clothing company (she just knew she found a hole in the market and had to act) I jumped onto her website to find a playground of styles that immediately brought me back to some of the best aspects of 80’s fashion, which believe it or not, I wistfully daydream about. I miss the days when I could bend over in my jeans and not worry about what was showing. And we all know there is nothing like the warmth and professionalism of a great turtleneck and blazer, especially through the winter. Of course the cherry on top – gold buttons – to make you feel perfectly accessorized without having to invest in “statement pieces”.

Jade Holland Cooper has taken all of that sensibility and transformed it with the glamour of the new millennium. Enjoy form-complimenting, sumptuous fabrics that work hard to make the wearer feel good.  All at accessible price points. Case in point, the now-famous jodhpur jeans! These jeans look so fabulous in photos with the rich colors, the perfect height waist, the elegant seams and hardware, but how would they look on?  Were they too slim? A quick call to the exquisitely-staffed customer service line helped nail down the right size. Forty-eight hours later, the jeans went on like a dream, and made me look like I work out much harder than I do. Now that’s efficient! I said as much to Jade via Instagram, and was acknowledged with a “That’s amazing! I’m so happy to hear that!” (purple heart emojis for days).  You’ve got to love when the designer herself closes the loop on a purchase by expressing her gratitude.

The Queen of Behind the Scenes (#BTS)

Not only has Jade Holland Cooper created such heavily-considered designs, but she promotes them via Instagram by showing us how she personally wears them in her day-to-day, or day-to-night life, which is so authentic. The variety of occasions and styles will keep you coming back for more. I warn you, her styles are very addictive! I now plan to infuse my wardrobe with Holland Cooper Clothing year-round, so I’m pacing myself. You’ll also enjoy the non-Holland Cooper ideas (I found a great little number on PrettyLittleThings.com) as well as the accessorizing.  I was inspired to have a lovely gold ring that I wasn’t using sized, and I now wear it proudly on my index finger. Jade reminds us to wear those accessories, the earrings, the rings, the belts, and mix it up!

Whether Jade Holland Cooper is selling outdoors at a horse show, or at one of her many stores throughout the UK, she takes her followers behind the scenes of a busy work-life as she reaches toward her next goal. Ever the transparent social media maven she’ll also take her following with her, virtually, on weekend trips to Paris, Mykonos (her fave spots to unwind), or just a night at one of the gorgeous pubs that has been newly-refurbished by The Lucky Onion, the hospitality group the she and her husband run.

One of the interesting things about Jade is that like other successful entrepreneurs, she enjoys her seriously fancy cars and other earned prizes. However, we’re just sure you won’t find another person as conscientious about helping you look, and feel, fantastic in her designs, and providing such high quality product for your money. It’s all in the details.
